Digicel Vs Lime

Lanline Internet Mobile Entertainment was what we were slapped with in the year 2009 after exciting news that this was Cable and Wireless' new name. A few months later or almost immediately we were introduced to what is called a 3g network. It was like a nationwide phenomenon here in Jamaica. For one, it was the best alternative to regular dial up by using a cellphone when not at home to use the regual 2g Broadband modem. In subsequent months people all over the island including myself rushed to get this costly modem (which by the way was alreasy in existence by Claro) that was apparently would deliver the fastest internet connection although competing companies were using the same modem type.

I was however duely dissappointed by the extremely slow almost as much as the 1g dial up service. Downloads took forever and things like Skype was a mess.

Almost a year later the opposing company came in with an alleged 4g network. Ofcoarse they named it Digicel 4g Broadband. This was advertised to be the fastest internet connection to the point of impossibilty of conception by the human mind. It came in with a bang showing advertisement through several forms of media- Newspaper and Television being the most used. So one would now get the impression from what I just mentioned that this Digicel 4g Broadband was the solution to the 3g saga, and an improvement to the regualar 2g broadband.

Nope think again. I went over to my friends home just this morining and discovered how slow this was. I was so shocked it drove me to write this article about these companies making Jamaican people look very gullible. We have been proven gullible seeing that we bought into the propanganda that has been put out into the media. However I personally think it is wrong to exploit Jamaicans like that.

Well I have come up with a solution to dealing with the crap that I have taken from these companies. What I have done is to switch back to flow Jamaica 2g internet. It is blazing fast and I get 50 things done in time it would take digicel or Lime's 3g, 4g internet connection to do. I am no expert in understanding internet connections but my opinion still stands. So people dont fall for the propanganda that is put out in the media to fool you. Try to use gumption to avoid being proven gullible.
